Stärken: Very few balls have the ability to provide traction in the front of the lane while maintaining a strong reaction at the back end as well. The 916 All Terrain has found a way to provide both, without sacrificing one for the other.

Schwächen: This new Track release will struggle on drier lane conditions. The cover is versatile enough to handle oily and medium patterns with the right surface adjustment but the core/cover combination is simply too strong for short and/or dry patterns.

Insgesamt: The 916 All Terrain is the first time we’ve seen a combination of letters in Track’s naming system. The All Terrain lives up to its name, a unique combination of traction throughout the lane with an angular movement down lane.

Comments: The 916 All Terrain is the first ball from Track that was designed to combine the best of both an "A" ball and a "T" ball. With the box finish, users will find the traction type of reaction with a little extra pop at the back end. Polish will transform this ball into angular motion while maintaining just enough of the traction motion. To create this unique combination, Track modified the Leggo core in order to lower the RG, differential, and intermediate differential, all at the same time. The cover is a new one for Track called HP Gen 4 All Terrain, which is the final piece ofthe puzzle in developing this new look. The new cover comes at a 2000 sanded Abralon finish. The combination ofthe factory finish and the low RG ofthe Leggo core allowed the 916 All Terrain to pick up the lane with ease on our oily test pattern. This allowed each tester to be in their comfort zone on this pattern. As this pattern broke down, all three testers found moving deeper into the oil pattern to be a breeze due to its down lane recovery. Moving to the medium pattern, all three testers were able to find the pocket albeit from different angles than they were playing on the oily test pattern. Stroker had the best look of the three since he is a speed dominant player. Stroker and Cranker decided to polish the ball, which gave them both easier length through the front of the lane while bringing out the angular motion of the 916 All Terrain. Although it became more angular, it showed more control off the dry than the typical skid/flip type of ball. Polishing will help those with lower rev rates on drier patterns while those with medium and higher rev rates will find it to be too much ball. The 916 All Terrain matched up well to our sport pattern for all three testers. Due to the versatility of the cover, it should be able to perform on a wide variety of patterns.
