Stärken:
The amount of traction in the oil from a ball at this price point is one of the 505T’s largest advantages. Players of all styles who are looking for hook without breaking the bank will find the 505Tto be their ball of choice.
Schwächen:
The 505T’s largest asset is also its only weakness. The traction created in the heads due to the cover and box finish will force players to pick up a 505A or 505C when the oil goes.
Insgesamt:
The 505T is the newest in the mid priced line from Track. This new release offers traction in the oil with a strong controllable move at the back end. This line has come full circle giving us a 505 with all three reaction shapes that Track offers.
Comments:
The 505T is the newest addition to the mid price performance line for Track. This one uses the same core design, probably for the final time, as the other 505s with a much stronger cover wrapped around it. The low RG and medium differential combined with the aggressive MP Gen4 Solid Reactive cover make the 505T an ideal choice for heavy and long patterns. All three of our testers found this ball to match up with our oily test pattern, which is just the type of pattern that this ball was designed for. The quick read of the lane allowed each to play a touch deeper in the oil. They could stay inside of the track, which has the tendency to break down the fastest since most bowlers play there. Because the testers were able to start slightly deeper, all were less affected by the early transitions that the longer oil pattern goes through. The strong curving motion at the breakpoint and back end was always smooth and easy to predict and control. The medium pattern offered moderate success for all three testers. All three were playing about an arrow deeper than they were on the oily test pattern. The deeper entry angles caused the pin carry to be a little suspect at times. Those bowling exclusively on medium patterns will want to try this ball with a polished finish. Drier patterns will offer nothing for the 505T. When facing this type of condition, we suggest looking elsewhere. The 300C, set to come out in a few months, should work better on the dry stuff. The strong arcing motion that this ball provides will come in handy on medium and oily sport patterns. Ours is on the medium side, so we found the 505T to give each tester a nice line to the pocket.
