Stärken: What we like most about the Anarchy was that it reads the lane a bit earlier than your typical reactive pearl ball. This allows the user to play a touch deeper on the lane without having to rely on the drier boards to the outside in order to turn the corner.
Schwächen: The Anarchy will prove to be too much ball on medium-dry to dry patterns. Weaker layouts and surface adjustments will help those with lower rev rates on the medium-dry patterns.
Insgesamt: The Anarchy is the first Storm release to use the R3X Pearl Reactive cover. The change to a pearl versus the solid version gives the Anarchy a cleaner look through the front part of the lane with the same strong motion down lane that the Invasion offered.
Comments: The Anarchy joins the Invasion in the Premier line from Storm. This new release uses the Origin core design. It features a low RG/high differential combination, which is the same core used in the Invasion. The difference between these two balls is the cover. The Anarchy uses the R3X Pearl Reactive cover while the Invasion used a solid version of R3X. The polished pearl cover allows the Anarchy to push down the lane easier than the Invasion, making it a better match with medium oil patterns whereas the Invasion matched up best with heavier oil patterns. All three of our testers found it to work best on our medium test pattern. The Anarchy gave all three testers easy length through the front with a strong reaction down lane. We never saw the skid/flip type of reaction that most reactive pearls create. This actually made the Anarchy more versatile, allowing us to make small moves deeper into the oil as the pattern broke down. Those with higher rev rates will be able to get the Anarchy to the pocket on oilier conditions with the factory finish while those with lower rev rates will need to knock off the polish for the Anarchy to pick up the lane soon enough. When it comes to drier conditions, those with lower rev rates will be able to get the ball to the pocket with quality shots. Those with medium rev rates need to raise the box finish and re-polish, while those with higher rev rates will be forced to play super deep angles, even with the extra surface prep. We feel this ball works so well on medium oil patterns that we suggest leaving the surface alone and using it on the appropriate condition. Sport patterns that are fresh will limit the usefulness of the Anarchy. When tougher conditions start to open up this ball will really shine.
