Stärken: Very few balls offer the look on the lanes that the Signals does. The core/cover combination allows this ball to keep going at the back end when others tend to stand up.

Schwächen: Heavy oil will cause this reactive pearl to over-skid, creating a delayed breakpoint. Straighter angles through the front part of the lane will help, but we suggest sticking to more medium type lane conditions and giving this one plenty of room to react.

Insgesamt: Going around the lane is a lot easier to do when you are confident the ball you are throwing isn’t going to roll out at any point. The Signals shows no sign of slowing down in the back end. Use your favorite layout and let the ball do all the work on the back end.

Comments: The difference in coverstock formulation is what makes the Signals stand out from other balls using the Vital Sign core. The change to the new pearlized Traction Reactive-l cover improves upon the reaction ofthe Vital Sign and Vital Energy. This one has the same strong midlane read with a lot more at the breakpoint and back end. All three testers had their best look on our medium test pattern. Stroker and Tweener were impressed the most with this ball, due to the extra help it gave them when it came out of the oil pattern. Very few balls turn the corner as hard as this one did for them. Because of his higher rev rate, Cranker was able to keep his Signals at the box finish and square up when we moved to our heavy pattern. We made some surface adjustments to Stroker and Tweener’s Signals by roughing the shell with 2000 Abralon to improve their look on this pattern. Even with the rougher finish, the angularity ofthe Signals let these testers keep their angles open in the front without giving up the pocket. The dry pattern didn’t have enough oil anywhere on the lane. We couldn’t get deep enough for the Signals to find the pocket consistently. We added some Powerhouse Extender Polish to all three test balls and only then could we get to the pocket. Our layouts provided too much of a skid/Hip reaction for our sport pattern. Tamer layouts would have offered a more consistent reaction on this condition, as our layouts were storing too much energy for the breakpoint. Removing the polish with a 4000 Abralon pad slightly smoothed the transition and improved our look on this flatter pattern.
