Stärken: What stood out the most in our testing was the consistent reaction the Game Plan provided. Shot after shot, it revved up nicely in the midlane and made a strong move all the way to the pins.

Schwächen: The Game Plan will struggle on the extremes. This ball doesn’t have enough traction for heavily oiled lanes, while at the same time it will create too much friction in the midlane for drier patterns.

Insgesamt: The Game Plan combines the core of the Lanebreaker with the cover of the NVS. The combination ofthe two, give the Game Plan its strong and consistent reaction for which it will soon become known.

Comments: The Game Plan has some big shoes to fill. It is following some of Ebonite’s most successful balls, like the V2 and Gamebreaker, by joining at the price point. Both of these balls created a strong consistent motion that was loved by a lot of bowlers. This has been the trademark of Ebonite’s silver performance series and the Game Plan falls into it perfectly. The Game Plan does so by using the EMP-1 core combined with the Traxion Reactive .039 cover. The core provides strong revs with a large flare potential which takes advantage of the consistency of the Traxion Reactive .039 cover. We found the Game Plan matches up the best with our medium test pattern because of the factory finish. All three testers experienced moderate length with a strong read of the midlane which continued through the back end. The continuation down lane offered plenty of recovery, even when we missed wide of target. As our medium test pattern dried up, we were able to keep making normal adjustments deeper into the oil pattern without sacrificing any hitting power. On our fresh dry pattern, Tweener and Stroker had the best overall reaction. Their medium and low rev rates allowed the Game Plan to stay on line and find the pocket rather consistently. The hitting power was still there like it was on the medium pattern, as long as they didn’t try to cover too many boards. Cranker had trouble on this pattern due to his high rev rate creating too much friction between the Game Plan and the lane. Those with higher rev rates will need to raise the box finish up to a polished 4000 Abralon finish in order to hnd the pocket. Our results on the oily test pattern were just the opposite. Cranker was able to get the Game Plan just fine while Tweener and Stroker needed a little help. We knocked the polish off of their test balls, which did the trick. The extra surface allowed each to open up the lane a touch, giving them the margin for error they needed. When we moved to the sport pattern we found the consistency ofthe Game Plan gave each a predictable reaction. With the right layout, the Game Plan will be a great choice for sport patterns with a medium volume of oil.
