Stärken: The strength of this ball is the versatility it possesses. This is the strongest, most overall hooking ball Columbia 300 has to offer in its current production line. Oil is no problem for this ball.

Schwächen: Dry in the front part of the lane will force everyone to put this ball away. For those on drier or broken down pattetns, weak layouts and polish will be a must.

Insgesamt: The Total Bedlam offers a strong reaction from start to finish. Most of Columbia 300's latest releases have been much cleaner through the front with a strong move down-lane. The Total Bedlam offers this, combined with extra traction through the front half of the lane.

Comments: The Total Bedlam is the latest addition to the Bedlam series in Columbia 300's performance line. The new Total Bedlam version 2.0 core, combined with the new Full Tilt 6.0 cover, will allow all users to see hook on any oily lane conditions. The Total Bedlam also features a new finishing process. lt is sanded three times with 500 grit Abralon pads and then with a 4000 pad as the last step. The normal process is to stair-step the finish from 500, 1000, 2000, and then 4000 Abralon. By skipping the 1000 and 2000 Abralon stages, the ball has more grit under the smoother surface, allowing Total Bedlam to be stronger in the oil while maintaining plenty of energy for the breakpoint and back end. This core/cover combination creates the most overall hook we have seen from Columbia 300 in a couple years. In our testing, we found the Total Bedlam to match up best with our heavy test pattern. Stroker, Tweener, and Cranker all had a terrific overall reaction while this pattern was fresh. Stroker's ball reaction got even better after a few minutes of testing, due to the oil breaking down slightly. The Total Bedlam bit through the fresh heavy test pattern for all three testers. For them, the Total Bedlam was coming off the spot consistently during the testing period. The medium test pattern offered a reaction that forced all three testers to move an arrow or more deeper into the oil pattern to find the pocket. None of the three testers had much of a Look on the dry pattern. The Total Bedlam was simply too strong for the shorter pattern. Even with polish added, only Stroker and Tweener could keep it to the right side of the headpin. Our sport pattern offered an above-average reaction for all three testers with the Total Bedlam. The sanded finish of the Total Bedlam gave the testers a strong, controllable reaction on the flatter pattern. One of the keys to a good reaction on a tougher lane condition is to allow the bowler to have room to miss either right or left. The Total Bedlam allowed us to miss a few boards right and still have recovery. It was not free hook like on a house shot, but on a flatter sport pattern, a few boards is a lot of area.
