Stärken: The combination of traction in oil with a strong move in the back end gives the Complete Bedlam a chance to find its way into any bowler’s bag. Pearls that do not over skid in the oil are balls that see a lot of use.

Schwächen: Long, heavy oil patterns will pressure bowlers to pick up another ball. Surface adjustments to the polished box finish are a must-have for bowlers with higher speeds or lower rev rates looking to use the Complete Bedlam on heavily oiled lanes. Drier lanes will require the factory finish to be raised and re-polished.

Insgesamt: The Complete Bedlam offers a reaction that fits perfectly into Columbia 300’s Value Performance line. When the Total Bedlam is too early or has too much hook, the Complete is the perfect step down. For players who see too much Skid from the Bedlam, the Complete will create more traction in the oil while maintaining the same motion.

Comments: The Complete Bedlam gives bowlers the third entry into the Bedlam name in the Value Performance product line. The Complete Bedlam features a modification to the original Bedlam core. The Bedlam V2.0 core adds a pancake style puck to the Bedlam core that increases the RG and Diff. The modification to the core in addition to the pearlized Full Tilt 5.0 reactive cover allows the Complete Bedlam to push through the front part of the lane and offer more overall hook than the Bedlam. All three testers found the reaction of the Complete Bedlam to match up best to our medium oil test pattern. The traction in the oil allowed all testers to play deeper in the oil and still see the recovery in the back end. Stroker didn’t have to move in as much as the other two, due to his lower rev rate. His lower rev rate also came in handy on the drier test pattern. Although this wouldn’t be his first choice for this type of condition, he felt that he could make it work if necessary. Moving to the heavy oil test pattern, only Cranker could generate the recovery to get to the pocket at the Complete Bedlam’s box finish. Stroker and Tweener removed the polish from their balls courtesy of a 2000 Abralon pad. Altering the surface allowed these two testers to get the traction needed to get the Complete Bedlam back to the pocket. For a pearlized bowling ball, the Complete Bedlam offered an above average reaction on our sport pattern, due to the rougher texture underneath the polished finish. The ball cleared the front easily, read the midlane very strongly, and gave all three testers more control overall. Sport patterns are played most successfully when players can find area, and this ball gave us just that.
