Stärken: We like the length and predictably ofthe back end reaction the Massive Damage offers. It isn’t a skid/flip ball and it's not super rolly, but it offers a nice look on the lanes.

Schwächen: The Massive Damage provides length by itself so it doesn’t need much help from the lane. As with the majority of balls that are not dull out ofthe box, this one will struggle on heavy oil unless you have turtle-like slow ball speed.

Insgesamt: The Massive Damage is a ball that works best on medium patterns but shows potential on drier conditions as well. The layout you use can get it down the lane more easily or make it have more overall hook depending on the reaction you are seeking.

Comments: The Massive Damage is the second ball in this series from Brunswick. The first Damage offered easy length and a strong breakpoint and back end. The Massive Damage uses a new, lower RG core that is stronger in the midlane with a strong arc at the breakpoint and back end. All three testers found this ball to match up best with our medium test pattern. Cranker found his best look starting this one just inside of the third arrow keeping it in the oil longer while bumping the track area further down lane. Tweener found a groove just inside of the second arrow using the same philosophy as Cranker by keeping the Massive Damage in the oil as long as possible in order to take advantage of the strong back end it offers. Stroker was able to play the closest to the oil line and was going more directly toward the pocket. Stroker made small moves with both feet and mark as the track area opened up. Both Tweener and Cranker were able to stay in the same spot for quite a while since they started deeper in the oil pattern. Our reaction on the dry pattern wasn’t quite as good as it was on the medium, but we could make it work. We added a dab of polish on top ofthe Ruff Buff finish and it instantly gave us the additional length needed. Weaker layouts would be best on this type of condition. The polished box finish didn’t offer much of a look on both the oily and sport patterns. This type of ball works best on medium patterns, so we used a 1000 Siaair pad on the test balls to give us the grip in oil that the box finish didn’t have on this pattern. The sanded finish also gave us much more area on the sport pattern than we had with the box finish.
