Stärken: The down lane recovery the Loaded Revolver offers is what we liked most. This one uses very little energy in the front half with a mild read of the midlane allowing for plenty of motion at the back end.

Schwächen: Those bowling on heavy oil patterns will need to either play a really straight line to the pocket or wait for the lanes to blend out, offering more recovery from the outside. Those who are not comfortable moving in a touch on drier lanes will need to look for a different option.

Insgesamt: The Loaded Revolver gives those who loved the Revolver another option when the lanes start to break down. The extra length it provides over the Revolver is due to the change to Brunswick’s Propel X cover.

Comments: The Loaded Revolver joins the Revolver in Brunswick’s upper mid~price category. It uses the same Jack core found in the Revolver with a different cover. The cover of choice is Propel X. The change in factory finish and cover allow the ball to provide more length while maintaining the same strong down lane motion. With the overall hook potential at about an arrow less overall, the Loaded Revolver will match up best with medium oil patterns. With our layouts, that is exactly where we found it worked the best. All three testers were able to stay in the comfort zone on this pattern. The Loaded Revolver gave each plenty of miss room wide of target while this pattern was fresh. As the track area opened up, we had to make a moderate move deeper into the oil pattern. With the track area offering more friction, we had to make sure we didn’t bump it too early. On the oily test pattern, Cranker had the best look due to his higher rev rate. All three had to play much straighter through the front due to the lack of recovery from the outside part of the lane on this longer oil pattern. Our reaction improved greatly as this pattern started to break down. We feel the ball should be good for late in the second game and most definitely for the third game on oily patterns. Fresh dry patterns will cause some trouble for those with higher rev rates due to the aggressive move the Loaded Revolver makes when it encounters friction. Those with lower rev rates will have an easier time as long as they are comfortable playing a little deeper than normal. The strength down lane will be too much for fresh sport patterns. As with longer oily patterns, the Loaded Revolver will perform better during the later games.
